The musician Emanuel (Johann Joseph) (Baptist) Schikaneder, author of instrumental and vocal music, was born in Straubing on the first September 1751, the same year of the composers Birnbach, Bortnyansky, Kauer, Laserna, Lasser, Lemoyne, Radziwell, Salari, Schröter, Stegmann. He died in Vienna on the 21 September 1812
