The musician Emile-Pierre Ratez, who wrote music for orchestra, chamber and vocal music, was born in Besançon on the 5th November 1851, the same year of the composers Abbà Cornaglia, Benoît, Blockx, Chapí (y Lorente), Chvála, Coronaro, Falchi, Farkas, Ferrari, Gallignani, Grillet, Indy, Klauwell, Röder. Died in Lille on the 19th May 1934
