Marcel Quinet, who wrote music for orchestra, chamber and vocal music, was born in Binche on the 6th July 1915, the same year of the composers Catunda, Cockshott, Cumbersworth, Ehrlich, Gallois-Montbrun, Hanus, Kilpatrick, Kondorossy, Kovách, Landowski, Lee, Legley, Nystedt, Pajaro, Persichetti, Richter, Sagaev, Searle, Surinach, Toda, Vallerand, Van de Woestijne. He died in Woluwé-St. Lambert on the 16th December 1986
