The composer Panayot Pipkov, who wrote music for orchestra, chamber and vocal music, was born in Plovdiv on the 21 November 1871, the same year of the composers Ambrosio, Arregui Garay, Blech, Borch, Converse, Demény, Jessel, Kaempfert, Lowtzky, Mugellini, Nevin, Paliashvili, Patterson, Reuss, Robles, Shapleigh, Spendiaryan, Stenhammar, Urbach. He died in Sofia on the 25th August 1942
