Arthur (Finley) Nevin, author of instrumental and vocal music, was born in Edgeworth on the 27th April 1871, the same year of the composers Ambrosio, Arregui Garay, Blech, Borch, Converse, Demény, Jessel, Kaempfert, Lowtzky, Mugellini, Paliashvili, Patterson, Pipkov, Reuss, Robles, Shapleigh, Spendiaryan, Stenhammar, Urbach. He died in Sewickley (Pennsylvania) on the 10th July 1943
