Artur Napoleão dos Santos was born in Oporto on the 6th March 1843, the same year of the composers Bechgaard, Bella, Bertha, Duyse, Erkel, Gialdini, Gregh, Grieg, Hamerik, Holst, Lefebvre, Lumbye, Marqués y García, Neuendorff, Pessard, Stephanescu.
