The composer Paul Mériel, author of instrumental and vocal music, was born in Mondonbleau on the 4th Jenuary 1818, the same year of the composers Basevi, Bazzini, Bousquet, Briccialdi, Dreyschock, Esser, Godefroid, Gounod, Gumbert, Lacombe, Lavenu, Litolff. He died in Tolosa on the 24th February 1897
