Josip Mandic, who wrote music for orchestra, chamber and vocal music, was born in Trieste on the 4th April 1883, the same year of the composers Allen, Bartels, Bastianelli, Bath, Bossi, Casella, Davison, Doelle, Hauer, Hernried, Hrimalý, Infante, Jacobi, Kalomiris, Kartsev, Klenau, Krein, Kunc, Lhotka, Lloyd, Luncani, Lévy, Manén, Moonie, Perrachio, Pringsheim, Refice, Samuel, Santoliquido, Toselli. He died in Praga on the 5th October 1959
