The musician Leo Justinus Kauffmann was a author of vocal and instrumental music; was born in Dammerkirch on the 20th September 1901, the same year of the composers Albert, Bautista, Chevreuille, Egk, Ghisi, Helfman, Henneberg, Hlobil, Jelinek, Keldorfer, Klussmann, Koutzen, Laks, Pelemans, Perkowski, Poot, Rodrigo, Rubbra, Sauguet, Shirinsky, Tomasi. He died in Strasburgo on the 25th September 1944
