The musician Friedrich August Kanne, who wrote music for orchestra, chamber and vocal music, was born in Delitzsch on the 8th March 1778, the same year of the composers Barbosa de Araújo, Caffi, Cranach, Gianella, Hummel, Kemp, Neukomm, Pacini, Pucitta, Romani, Rungenhagen, Sor, Tessino. He died in Vienna on the 16th December 1833
