The musician Benjamin Ipavec, author of instrumental and vocal music, was born in Sveti Jurij on the 24th December 1829, the same year of the composers Acton, Bertini, Braga, Dietrich, Gottschalk, Hartog, Ivry, Karrer, Lazare, Millard, Pinsuti, Roberti, Rogel, Rubinstein, Stiehl, Thomas, Thooft.
