The musician Axel Karl William Grandjean, who wrote music for orchestra, chamber and vocal music, was born in Copenaghen on the 9th March 1847, the same year of the composers Cervantes (Kawanag), Dimitrescu, Eichborn, Haarklou, Holmès, Klughardt, Láska, Mackenzie, Salvayre, Scharwenka, Servais. He died in Copenaghen on the 11th February 1932
