Hermann (Theodor Otto) Grädener, who wrote music for orchestra, chamber and vocal music, was born in Kiel on the 8th May 1844, the same year of the composers Barrera Gómez, Cellier, Erkel, Grammann, Hertz, Kratzer, Kullak, Mathieu, Nieto, Paladilhe, Rauchenecker, Rimsky-Korsakov, Rüfer. He died in Vienna on the 18th September 1929
