The musician Maurice (Marie François) Emmanuel was born in Bar-sur-Aube on the second May 1862, the same year of the composers Balanchivadze, Behm, Berutti, Damrosch, Debussy, Delius, Ganne, Greef, Harriss, Jones, Klose, Koch, Kovarovic, Lavrangas, Leborne, Marshall-Hall, Maurice, O'Dwyer, Pizzi, Reiter, Vanzo. Died in Parigi on the 14th December 1938
