The composer Isaak (Iosifovich) Dunayevsky, author of instrumental and vocal music, was born in Lokhvitsa on the 30th Jenuary 1900, the same year of the composers Aav, Antheil, Barraud, Berezowsky, Bernard, Blum, Burkhard, Bush, Copland, Ermatinger, Ferroud, Godron, Halffter (Escriche), Haug, Head, Ikonomov, Krenek, Mosolov, Oboussier, Pimsleur, Raymond, Reutter, Salmhofer, Schmidt-Isserstedt, Shekhter, Taktakishvili. He died in Mosca on the 25th July 1955
