Jean-Baptiste Colyns (Colijns) was born in Bruxelles on the 25th November 1834, the same year of the composers Angeloni, Becker, Benoît, Berger, Bial, Blodek, Hernández Sales, Legouix, Lôbo, Mertens, Ponchielli, Pougin, Robinson. He died in Bruxelles on the 31th October 1902
