The composer Louis (Adolphe) Coerne was born in Newark on the 27th February 1870, the same year of the composers Breil, Büttner, Casadesus, Dopper, Estella, Garcia Mansilla, Hermann, Hill, Hosmer, Koreshchenko, Lehár, Lekeu, Leps, Lleó, Malherbe, Mlynarski, Moreau, Novák, Opienski, Pittrich, Pons, Pryor, Ryelandt, Schenck, Schuster, Straus, Tournemire, Truman. He died in Boston on the 11th September 1922
