The composer Nicolas-Joseph Chartrain (Chartrin), author of instrumental and vocal music, was born in Liège in 1740, the same year of the composers Aranaz y Vides, Arne, Arnold, Baumgarten, Bernardini, Carter, Celoniati, Fago, Gatti, Granier, Lasceux, Mathieu, Paisiello, Rosales, Schwanenberger. He died in Parigi in 1793
