The composer Joseph Callaerts, author of instrumental and vocal music, was born in Antwerpen on the 22nd August 1838, the same year of the composers Bendl, Benvenuti, Bizet, Bruch, Clay, Fairlamb, Ferreira Veiga, Hill, Kremser, L'Arronge, Lacome, Morales, Schulz-Beuthen. He died in Antwerpen on the third March 1901
