The composer Constantin Julius Becker, who wrote music for orchestra, chamber and vocal music, was born in Freiberg on the third February 1811, the same year of the composers Arnold, Blahetka, Catelani, Godefroid, Hiller, Liszt, Orlowski, Schindelmeisser, Skroup, Speranza, Taubert, Thomas, Truhn. He died in Oberlössnitz (Dresda) on the 26th February 1859
