Paul Hastings Allen, who wrote music for orchestra, chamber and vocal music, was born in Hyde Park on the 28th November 1883, the same year of the composers Bartels, Bastianelli, Bath, Bossi, Casella, Davison, Doelle, Hauer, Hernried, Hrimalý, Infante, Jacobi, Kalomiris, Kartsev, Klenau, Krein, Kunc, Lhotka, Lloyd, Luncani, Lévy, Mandic, Manén, Moonie, Perrachio, Pringsheim, Refice, Samuel, Santoliquido, Toselli. He died in Boston on the 28th September 1952
